Privacy Policy

This website collects as little as possible: anonymous usage statistics if you agree to them, and whatever you choose to send us through the contact form.

Who we are

MdeB Consultancy is a furniture industry strategy, development and growth consultancy based in Trinidad & Tobago, working with manufacturers and retailers across the Caribbean. We are the data controller for information submitted through this website.

Contact us about anything on this page by email at michael@mdebconsultancy.com or by telephone on +1 (868) 390-5196.

What we collect

If you complete the enquiry form on our contact page, we receive and store:

  • Your name
  • Your company, if you give one
  • Your email address
  • Whether you are a manufacturer, retailer, project or other
  • The message you write
  • The IP address the enquiry was sent from, and the date and time, which help us identify automated spam

That is the only personal information you actively give us. If you simply read the site and never contact us, we do not collect anything that identifies you personally — only the anonymous usage statistics described below.

Why we use it

We use what you send us for one purpose: to read your enquiry and reply to it, and to continue that conversation if it leads somewhere. We do not use it for marketing lists, we do not profile you, and we do not make automated decisions about you.

Analytics and cookies

We would like to use Google Analytics and Ahrefs Analytics to understand how the website is used — which pages people read, how they arrived, and roughly where in the world they are. This tells us whether the site is doing its job. It does not tell us who you are.

We ask first. When you arrive, a notice asks whether you accept analytics. Until you choose "Accept analytics", neither tool is loaded at all — your browser makes no contact with Google or Ahrefs for analytics, and no analytics cookies are set. If you choose "No thanks", it stays that way, and the site works exactly the same.

If you do accept, Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser and records your IP address, which we have configured Google to anonymise. Ahrefs Analytics is a privacy-focused tool that counts visits without cookies and without identifying individuals. We do not use advertising pixels, we do not build marketing profiles, and we do not follow you around other websites.

You can read the providers' own policies: Google and Ahrefs.

Changed your mind? Clearing this site's data in your browser settings will make the notice appear again so you can choose differently. You can also install Google's official opt-out add-on.

One other third party is involved in an ordinary page view: Google Fonts, which serves the typefaces the site is set in. Your browser requests those font files from Google, which necessarily discloses your IP address to Google in the process. See Google's privacy policy.

Who can see your enquiry

Your enquiry is stored on the server that runs this website and emailed to us so we see it promptly. It is read by Michael de Boehmler and by Pivotize TT, who built and maintain this website on our behalf and who receive the enquiry notifications.

We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with anyone else unless the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiries for as long as the enquiry is live and for a reasonable period afterwards, in case you come back to us. Enquiries that clearly lead nowhere are deleted. Obvious spam is discarded without being stored at all.

If you would like your enquiry deleted sooner, ask us and we will remove it.

Your rights

You can ask us to:

  • Tell you what we hold about you
  • Correct anything that is wrong
  • Delete what you have sent us
  • Stop using it for any purpose

Email michael@mdebconsultancy.com and we will deal with it. We will not ask you to justify the request.

These rights are given effect in Trinidad & Tobago by the Data Protection Act. If you contact us from a country with its own data protection law, such as the United Kingdom or the European Union, we will honour the equivalent rights it gives you.

Keeping it secure

This website is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection. Enquiries are stored in a database that is not publicly accessible, and access is limited to the people named above. No system is perfectly secure, but we do not keep information we have no reason to hold.

Children

This is a business-to-business website and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information about anyone under 16.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and change the date at the top. The version you are reading was last updated on 12 October 2026.
